Desperate Circumstances. Rarely have I made a personal appeal for finances but the time is now. The Children’s Activity Center serves about 1500 children and their families in greater Houston. As most of you know the City of Houston and it surrounding area has been hit by unprecedented horrific flood event.Their situation has never been worse. They are going to need our prayers and support in the coming days.
We have been so extremely blessed at our Center. We have received no flood damage and are in the process of cleaning up. We have already been using our buses in high water rescues and evacuations. So far we have managed to save about 30 people from extremely dangerous high water. Including a nineteen year old girl who was nine months pregnant along with her eighty year old grandmother chest deep in the flood along a Breas Bayou street.
We will continue our Children’s Activity Center services this coming Saturday with a clothing give away and will do all we can to help these disadvantaged families with what resources we have. We are asking you to donate $ 50.00. This will be the equivalent of helping one family for this first two weeks of their recovery. You can also make donations of clothing and other nonperishable food items at 5801 Edgemoor Houston, Texas at our collection box in the front of the property. We are a faith based 501©3 organization and all donations are tax deductible.
