Trust in the Bible -by Derek

We live in an age today I like to call the “Acceptance Era”. America has become a society where if you don’t accept people for who they are and don’t accept their sin then you are a bigot. If you are against 3,000 lives being killed by abortion each day, against homosexuality being promoted to everyone; even kids, against legal use of mind altering drugs such as marijuana; then the world deems you as judgmental and righteous. And unfortunately that mentally has altered people’s view of God.

,If you ask someone if they believe in God and they say yes, don’t get excited because I have learned that saying you believe in God is vague. I have learned that when some people say that they aren’t talking about the true living God, but a god based on their own opinion and personal beliefs. Just last week I came across a discussion being had on Facebook and the topic was on the whole unisex bathroom issue. As we all know, one reason why people are pushing to pass that law is so that transsexuals feel accepted by society.
 
So one lady brought up how as a Christian she can’t approve of such a law because she knows that it would promote the acceptance of sin. Then others commented on her response and what I saw disturbed me. People who proclaimed to be Christian were degrading the lady’s response. One of them even saying and I quote “As a Christian I don’t agree with you, I believe that homosexuality is not a sin and God would support the law.” Then there were others proclaiming to be Christians who agreed with that response. They were obviously being a false witness and believed in a god that is not the true God. 
 
The Bible is very clear on homosexuality (Leviticus 18:22, Romans 1:26-28, Mark 10:6-9), it is a sin; a sin that can be forgiven of coarse if there is true repentance. But you will discover a lot of people believing in a god that accepts sin; a god that agrees with the world. But a true believer knows that God is in NO agreement with the wickedness of this world and wants to cleanse us of the filth this world promotes. It says in Romans 12:2 “And be not conformed to this world; but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God.” So if you are a true believer, don’t fall for others opinion on who God is; fully rely on God’s word (the Bible) to reveal to you who God is.
 
Those who don’t know scripture don’t truly know God. You can say you believe in God all you want, you can say that you’re Christian, in fact over 70% of Americans proclaim to be Christian. But we all know that statistic is deceiving. Talk is cheap, don’t trust a man’s opinion on who God is trust what the Bible says God is, because it is God’s word; it states in 2 Timothy 3:16 “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.”
 
A true Christian is one who is in agreement with God’s word. Don’t fall into the temptation to defile God’s word, to pick and choose what to accept, to blend your own beliefs and opinions into God’s word. Trust, believe and receive God’s word fully!
